Tuesday and it’s raining.
The playlist’s been something like:

Fennesz/Jeck/Matthews / Amoroso: a tribute to the “sacred minimalism” of Arvo Part, Amoroso’s a continuation of the Touch label’s series of 7″ gems. Christian Fennesz and Philip Jeck manipulate and toy with organist Charles Matthew’s performances. Sublime stuff.

Pocahaunted / Island Diamonds: Fresh from the Arbor press, Island Diamonds is Pocahaunted through a hazy fog of dub and drenched out beats. It’s cosmic.

Strategy / Electric Soup: Paul Dickow’s first bit of 2008 material as Strategy, Electric Soup, is a blissfully tripped out 12″ of electric beeps and blips. Woozy wisps, degraded tapeloop, buzzing drones… Yum.

Adult Swim: It’s always on here in the dorms so, sometimes I watch it. It’s kind of funny now and then. Regardless of my feelings on it though, they have a habit of releasing these free-for-download albums. They’ve done, thus far, two with Stones Throw (Chrome Children 1 & 2) and one that featured an amalgam of cross-genre artists ranging from Fennesz to Asobi Seksu. Needless to say, they’re intriguing. Their latest comes as a collaboration with Ghostly records. Snatch it up.

Wailing institute tonight in the Cabaret. The show should be crazy, nine weirdos all playing organized chaos. 8 o’ clock on the dot. I’ll try to post some evidence of its outlandishness tomorrow.
Mondays…
Music I’ve been enjoying recently:

Religious Knives / Resin: a compilation album of sorts, Religious Knives’ music throughout the years. It’s dark, lo-fi, drone-inspired krautrock, maybe.

The Microphones / The Glow Pt. 2 Reissue: released recently by K records, there’s an entire second disc of goodies. Some weird spacey takes on tracks like “I Want Wind to Blow” and “The Glow Pt. 2″ really make worthwhile.

Jasper TX / This Quiet Season: Dag Rosenqvist continually lulls me into dream-like states. This Quiet Season comes as 40 minutes of simply gorgeous drone.

Quetzolcoatl / Sleeping Within The Sun: Easily one of my favorite artists as of late, Tim Hurley’s music is distanced, fuzz-drenched drone. Looped layers of distorted feedback; sonic bliss. I could write a thousand metaphors for it, but, they’d all be rather silly.
